Thank you all for your kind remarks and of course, much credit should be given to Councilwoman Corazon-Pineda Isaacs.

I want to give the Ludlow Residence Association a brief update on where we stand when it comes to the Yonkers Road Pavement.

The following paragraph is a letter that I received from Leslye Thomas, legaslative aid to Councilwoman Corazon. She discusses the dollar amount towards pavement and the areas selected for road repair.

"Hi Greg,

I was finally able to get an update for you on the re-paving of some roads in the 2nd District, which would include South Broadway.

The update below is from the City’s Engineer:

Each district got $675,000. The bid price for the contract was $5.6m, but we currently have about $4.6m. I think we’ll be able to use CHIPS next year to make up the difference, or Capital funds if any more are bonded. We are looking to start before the end of August, but I don’t have locations yet. Currently we don’t have a signed contract, but are working on it.

Some of the tentative locations, yet to be confirmed are as follows:

Hawthorne Avenue, from Morris to Culver

South Broadway, from Highland to Vark

South Broadway, from Valentine Lane to Radford Street

Valentine Lane, from South Broadway to Leighton

Leslye Oquendo-Thomas

Legislative Aide to Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac

City Hall, Suite 414

40 South Broadway

Yonkers, NY 10701

Tel: (914)377-6951"

So this is where are right now when it comes to the road pavement in the 2nd district

I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for the road work towards the end of August.

If you have any further questions, you can definitely reach out to Leslye.

She has been superbly professional, and very helpful on providing insight on the road pavement process.

Sincerely,

Greg Harris

Good Day Fellow Ludlow Residence Association Members,

I am proud to announce that the 2nd District of the city of Yonkers, which encompasses Valentine Lane, much of South Broadway as well as Riverdale Ave has recently been granted much needed funds towards repair and pavement of our neighborhood roads. I had recently received a call from Leslie, who work for the office of Yonkers Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac, that our councilwoman was able to secure $675,000 dollars for road pavement and such funds will be strictly directed to the 2nd district.

As some of you may know, the poor condition of the roads in our neighborhood was of great concern to me and it was an issue that I repeatedly brought to the attention of Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac whether it be via email, calls to her office, as well as in person.

I am deeply proud of the efforts undertaken by Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac in securing these funds during the passage of our city budget, and the recognition and understanding that her office displayed when it came to my deep concern over the quality of the roads and its impact on our vehicles and neighborhood.

This story is not yet over. For the next steps will involve making sure that our city obtains contracts with the organizations that will help assess and efficiently pave our streets and that work gets going quickly and smoothly.

Sincerely,

Greg Harris
